In 1991 the walls of the Soviet Union began to crumble.  Regretfully, so did the family structure.  Unemployment, alcoholism, and abuse of kids increased.  Kids were seen by the thousands on the streets of Russia and Ukraine.  Many began banding up with small groups of kids and slept in sewers or abandoned buildings for days or years at a time. They survived through scams, prostitution, and begging. The police then began handing the kids over to poor orphanages, kid jails, or holding centers.  Most of our current efforts are to help small ministries who go to the orphanages, children’s hospitals or these temporary holding centers.

This book is a series of short inspirational essays that tell the story of one man’s journey from a dark time of uncertainty to the heart of the Father for children forgotten.  You will discover how these children, who are struggling in their own darkness, are finding a bit of love and light from the heart of God.

Pray Big & Pray Bold
Pray Big & Pray Bold

Prayer is our priority in these times of crisis.  This 6 week study guide is geared to small groups or individuals.   It will remind us of our perspective, that God is the Potter and we are the clay; that He is in control.  It will guide students through: why we don't pray, why we do, praying big and bold prayers, and where to start.  It will encourage a deeper prayer life for the individual and groups.

The Ukrainian Crisis - A Call to Pray Big & Pray Bold

For generations Ukraine has been invaded and dominated by those hoping to control the hearts of this country.  In November of 2013 the masses arose and stormed the Maidan square downtown Kiev in protest of a corrupt communist leaning government.   What began as a peaceful protest escalated over the next two months into violence and the shooting deaths of over 100 people.  Our prayer, presented in this book, became, "Lord, we ask that the Berkut (riot police) will lay down their shields, get on their knees and ask forgiveness of the people, and that the president will step down from his throne - this week."   And it happened.

This book moves from a prayer, big and bold, to the new prayer - 2bearsLord - and a practical prayer plan laid out by those living in Ukraine.

The Prodigal's Journey
The Prodigal's Journey

Many of us have left behind the security of home for something better - out there. After wandering into darkened places there comes a realization that we need a return to the heart of the Father. These poems portray a period in my own life of wandering away from the heart of God and my return. The poems
also symbolize the journey of millions of orphans who have lost their earthly fathers, but are yet to return to their Heavenly Father.

Sisu
Sisu

Five men who carved a life out of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Their love for this land and the life they found showed courage, perseverance, and fortitude. The Finnish of this land call it "Sisu". These profiles show the determination of: a man who followed his dream to start a butterfly house on Mackinac Island, a man who ran a thriving mechanics business out of a run-down gas station, a man who came home from Vietnam and escaped to the northern woods as a successful logger, a man who developed a reputable funeral business, and a pastor with a vision for the people of upper Michigan.

Beyond Reason
Beyond Reason

A collection of poems passing beyond the confines of life’s cycles.  A journey beyond the periphery of what is seen in the obvious circlings of life and all its expectations.

Trees weeping in sunlit morning.

A new day of dry crisping

and root hardenings.

For what? For ever cycles.

Woods whispering in hot afternoon.

A day passing of limbs rattling

and twigs drying.

For what?  Forever circlings

The Heart that Shapes the Wood
The Heart that Shapes the Wood

Somewhere in a century past, an acorn fell to the earth and produced a golden oak for a carpenter's hands.  The oak basked in sunshine, survived the storms, and rocked in the frigid winds of winter. In the prime of its growth, it was cut from the ground, shaped into lumber, and laid for a time of seasoning.

A worker of wood chose the planks, free of defect and pleasing to the eye.  With precision tools he cut, trimmed, and fashioned a desk with pride.  Lacquers and oils smoothed the natural grains of the oak.  Over time, the beauty of the carpenter's work was changed as the desk was scarred with cigarettes and stained with rings of hot coffee.  It was broken, glued, painted, and relegated to a basement.

Hong Bi Editing

Professional Editing & Proof Reading Services.

Lissa Roberson has helped us with, "Pray Big & Pray Bold"

I am a lifelong lover of words and writing!  I began my formal career by editing my husband's graduate school papers.  Later, I wrote our family newsletter while living overseas for 12 years.  More recently I have begun editing for a Christian publishing house, a private Christian school, and for friends who want to write their personal memoirs.  Proofreading comes naturally and I love spicing up content to make books, booklets and reports come alive .
